Area Hardware Retailers |
ComputerStop: (2 Stars) The former local market leader, policy and pricing changes have dropped them from the top spot. Their pricing tends to be very high, and they often push substandard components. The sales staff is always too busy and less than helpful. They have a reasonable selection of parts if you are looking for Creative Labs. Compusave, Inc.: (4 Stars) The newest player in the local market, These people seem to have a clue. They have the largest case selection in the area, and carry a wide variety of components at reasonable prices. Their motherboard selections are a lot more varied than any other local vendor. Nice Job folks and keep up the good work. Hard Drives Northwest: (2 Stars) HDNW has a much different setup than all the other stores, you have to talk with a salesman and have an order printed up, then take it to the parts counter to pay and pick up your purchase. I really dislike this system. You can sometimes find a good deal or two here, but in general you will get a much better price online with a lot less hassle. CompUSA: (2 Stars) The local computer super store chain, they have a lot of product, but their prices are too high and their sales staff is totally clueless. I once spent 25 minutes waiting in the digital camera section for the priveledge of purchasing a Kodak DC-240z digital camera. |
